Futures continue to rise

New Delhi: Gold futures rose by Rs38 to Rs61,110 per 10 gram as speculators created fresh positions on firm spot demand. Silver futures fell by Rs176 to Rs72,722 per kilogram as participants reduced their bets. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold contracts for December delivery traded higher by Rs38 or 0.06 per cent at Rs61,110 per 10 gram in a business turnover of 4,815 lots. Fresh positions built up by participants led to a rise in gold prices, analysts said. Globally, gold futures went up by 0.4 per cent to $2,014.10 per ounce in New York.
On the MCX, silver contracts for December delivery declined by Rs176 or 0.24 per cent to Rs72,722 per kg in a business turnover of 14,459 lots. Globally, silver was trading 0.07 per cent lower at $24.02 per ounce in New York.
